West Coast Eagles Flying High II Book

Flying High II

The West Coast Eagles Football Club is justifiably proud of its history and those with whom the club has connected over its 30-year journey.

Many thousands of members have been on that ride from the outset, from the first bounce against Richmond on March 29, 1987 until now. And countless more have joined the West Coast Eagles family along the way.

They have ridden the bumps, enjoyed the exhilarating victories and pondered the path back to the top when the club has been dealt its challenges.

In Flying High II, a man who has been intrinsically aligned to the Eagles since witnessing the club’s birth in 1986, recounts it all. Initially as a journalist and for the last 18 seasons as the club’s General Manager - Communications, Gary Stocks has been in and around the action.

He covered the premiership triumphs of 1992 and 1994 for The West Australian, was with the club when it won its third premiership in 2006 and is hoping to be a part of the off-field structure when the Eagles win their fourth premiership.

He has worked in conjunction with club legends Chris Lewis, Glen Jakovich and John Worsfold when they chronicled their personal stories as they nudged towards the end of their careers. He was also the author of Flying High, which captured the first 25 years of club history.

Flying High II, which will is scheduled for delivery in early June 2017, is an extension of the initial publication – with even greater detail. It lists every player who has been a part of the club in the last 30 years, provides details of every match and gives a summary of each of the 30 completed seasons.

This is a magnificent piece of memorabilia, with a strong pictorial focus and will retail for $40.

[The book is a 208-page, semi-hard cover publication with dimensions of 240mm (w) x 320mm (h) and will only be available through the West Coast Eagles Team Store.]
